For Gennady it rang out
by phone call at late fall of 1986. It
was offered to expose a series of disabled veterans at the festive evening in
the House of artist on Kuznetsky most.
The
hall, where 22 portraits were exhibited, was filled to the full. The hot
performances of numerous spontaneous speakers heated up the audience. The
visitors' book was overflowed with delight reviews. The author faced for the
first time with tears of gratitude... Exhibition evening was prolonged for 2
days more, but the flow of the spectators only grew.
There
were several suggestions - to show
works in the other showrooms. The publications in periodicals began. After
1,5 years the Novosti Press Agency released an album in 3 languages.
The Soviet Committee of the Defense of Peace awarded the artist to the medal
"Fighter for Peace". There were numerous TV-reports. In the cinemas
of the country was the film "The Artist Gennady Dobrov" (TsSDF,
1989)

In
1993 "War autographs" were acquired by the Museum on Poklonnaya
Gora.
The
artist constantly draws life raging around and continues to paint portraits
and pictures. Striving for perfection, he ruthlessly changes plots, remakes
compositions even after exhibiting pictures at the exhibitions. (For this
reason an epoch-making painting " Memories of a communal flat" on which he worked for 20 years, remained incomplete).
